Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brock Froster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deacon Downs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brock Froster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Deacon Downs!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Lou da Vinci and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Froster feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Downs wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Downs looking for a sweep. Not yet Downs, not yet.
Froster throwing strikes but missing.
Downs throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Downs wants to stand but Froster is controlling the position.
Froster pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Downs is keeping the position for now.
Froster trying to control but Downs is working from the bottom.
Froster controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Brock Froster.

Froster has closed the distance and engaged Downs in a clinch.

Downs has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Froster clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Downs is riding his opponent, not letting Froster buck him off.

Downs is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Froster defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Froster just trying to survive but Downs is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Froster breaks Downs's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Downs controlling the position.
Froster wants to control from the top but Downs keeps moving.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Brock Froster just wasn't active enough.
Froster shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Downs counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Froster thinking.
Froster is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Downs clinches up against the cage.
Downs lands a left hand.
Downs works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Downs lands with a light punch inside.

Downs gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Froster regains guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Downs pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Froster is keeping the position for now.
Downs controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Downs is looking to stand up but Froster won't let him.

Downs is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Downs successfully pulls guard.
Downs managing to control the position.

Froster got a little sloppy there for a moment and Downs has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Froster has managed to get both his arms back between Downs's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Downs is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Froster defends well.
Downs is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Froster passes Downs's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Deacon Downs dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Froster clinches up against the cage.
Downs misses with some punches.
Froster taking a breather.

Froster jumps guard.
Downs looking to pass the guard.
Downs postures up.

Froster kicks Downs off and gets to his feet.

Froster has managed to clinch.
Downs manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Downs scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Downs lands a left hand that snaps the head of Froster backwards.
A body shot lands from Downs.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Downs lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
A right hand to the body from Downs.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Downs pulls guard successfully.
Froster postures up.
Froster won't allow Downs to sweep him here.
Downs is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Downs has an active guard here but Froster has managed to pass into half guard.
Downs is trying to get back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Downs tries to kick Froster off but Froster keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Froster is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Downs tries to get to full guard but Froster has control of the leg.
Downs is looking to escape.
Downs is trying to control but can't.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Downs wants to get back to full guard but Froster has passed into side control.
Froster is looking to take a break and control but Downs is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Downs is trying to improve his position.
Downs wants to control but Froster postures up.
Froster tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Downs is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Froster is controlling him well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Downs tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Downs is trying to control Froster's posture but Froster avoids it.
Downs tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Froster wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Froster wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Downs, who protects the arm well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
You can see the frustration on Downs's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Deacon Downs showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Froster looking to score a takedown here. Downs is defending well but Froster drives through and ends up in Downs's guard.
Downs is looking to stand back up but Froster counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Downs.
Downs is looking to improve his position.
Froster sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Downs defending well though.
Downs is controlling Froster's trapped leg to prevent Froster from advancing to side control.
Downs pushes Froster off but Froster dives into side control.
Downs is looking for a sweep.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Downs can't do much from the bottom here.
Downs bucks up and tries to throw Froster off but instead Froster has got his back!
Froster tries to get the hooks in deep but Downs pushed the leg off.

Froster looking for the RNC.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Downs tries to roll but Froster sticks to his back.
Downs is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Downs controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad spot.

Froster working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Downs is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Froster has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Downs taps out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Brock Froster!
