Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tomasz Adamek! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kevin Reabker! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Illya Tyunina and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Adamek closes the distance and clinches up with Reabker, looking for a takedown. Adamek pushes Reabker against the cage but Reabker circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Adamek ducks under a wild hook from Reabker. Adamek shoots in for a double leg but Reabker sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Reabker tries a low kick but Adamek avoids it. Reabker fails in his attempt to clinch. Adamek closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Reabker is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Adamek is controlling him well. You can see the frustration on Reabker's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Reabker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Adamek. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Adamek wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Reabker, who protects the arm well. Adamek is looking to take a break and control but Reabker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Reabker gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Adamek moves into full mount! Reabker won't be happy about that! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Reabker can do anything to dispel that myth. Adamek lands with some strikes. Adamek looking to secure an arm triangle but Reabker defends it well. Adamek avoids the attempt from Reabker to control. Adamek looking to ground and pound but Reabker is blocking nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Adamek controlling from the full mount. Adamek lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Reabker hang on? Adamek trying to control but Reabker is having none of it. Reabker bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Reabker trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Adamek looking to control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Adamek scrambles and gets back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Adamek lands with a hook. Reabker tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Reabker fails in his attempt to clinch. Adamek throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Reabker tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Adamek is in Reabker's guard. Adamek forces his way into half guard. Reabker wants to get back to full guard. Adamek trying to mount his opponent but Reabker defends it. Adamek wants to lay and pray for a moment but Reabker keeps working.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Adamek trying to mount his opponent but Reabker defends it. Reabker tries to roll over but Adamek keeps him under control. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Adamek in particular looking to stall. Reabker wants to get back to full guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Adamek wants to pass to mount but Reabker is defending the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Adamek frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Reabker is looking to get to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adamek fails with a takedown attempt from distance. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Adamek. Adamek misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tomasz Adamek. That's going to take a lot out of him. Adamek throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Reabker's waist but Reabker gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Adamek off to one side. Reabker has closed the distance and engaged Adamek in a clinch.

Reabker has a couple of punches blocked by Adamek.
A frustrated look appears on Reabker's face as he tries to break the clinch. Reabker scores with a shot to the side of Adamek's head. Reabker escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Adamek shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Reabker pinned against the cage. Reabker gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Adamek has Reabker up against the cage in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reabker will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Adamek up against the cage. Reabker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Adamek shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Reabker tries to hold on but Adamek pushes him away. Adamek with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Reabker wants to hold on but Adamek pushes him away. Adamek pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Reabker tries to lock up and control but Adamek gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Tomasz Adamek overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Adamek mounts Reabker! Really nice guard pass there! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Adamek goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Reabker turns into him and now he's in Adamek's guard.
Reabker throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Adamek works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Reabker postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Adamek manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Adamek thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Reabker is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Adamek is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Reabker is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Adamek controlling the pace for now. Adamek can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Reabker is looking to escape. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Reabker lands a hook to the side of the head. Reabker pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Reabker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Reabker lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Adamek has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Adamek and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Reabker shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Adamek pinned against the cage. Adamek gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Tomasz Adamek has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Reabker.

Reabker takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Adamek fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Reabker avoids it really well and circles away. Adamek tries to score a body lock takedown but Reabker shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Adamek is trying to pull guard but Reabker has him pressed against the cage. Reabker with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Adamek changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Reabker fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Adamek shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Reabker shoots in and drives through. Adamek sprawls well. Reabker shoots in but Adamek avoids the takedown attempt easily. Reabker tries to clinch up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Adamek gets a takedown into half guard. Adamek takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Adamek trying to control the action but Reabker is working from the bottom. Adamek is really struggling to control Reabker but he's trying to hold on to the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Tomasz Adamek. Adamek throws a one two combo.
Kevin Reabker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Adamek is looking to clinch but Reabker is avoiding it.
Tomasz Adamek is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Adamek fails with a takedown attempt. Adamek tries to score a power double leg takedown but Reabker sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Adamek somewhat. Reabker tries to close the distance and clinch but Adamek swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Reabker misses with the combination.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tomasz Adamek. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Adamek, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
