Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 16 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ulf Minutsak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Thomas Raith! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Sergei Dronov and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Raith looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Raith wants to control from the top but Minutsak keeps moving. Minutsak on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Minutsak tries to get out of the position. Raith trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Minutsak managing to control the position. Raith trying to control the position from guard on top but Minutsak is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Thomas Raith. Raith avoids the body shot from Minutsak.
Minutsak just misses with a punch to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Raith tries for a takedown but Minutsak circles away easily and Minutsak counters with a head kick that drops Raith to the mat! Raith scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Raith is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Raith tries to clinch but Minutsak moves out of range. Raith is still on wobbly legs! Can Minutsak finish him? Raith shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Minutsak connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Minutsak lands a nice looking body shot.
Raith seems to have recovered his senses. Minutsak feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Raith sprawling to the canvas! Raith rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Minutsak finish him?!
It looks like Thomas Raith has been cut. Raith shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Minutsak as he jumps to the side. Ulf Minutsak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thomas Raith. Minutsak throws a monster overhand right that drops Raith! Minutsak follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ulf Minutsak!
