And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ron Swanson!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jonathan Paton and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swanson needs to keep his hands up - Macgowan had a free shot at his head there.


It looks like Ron Swanson has been cut.

Macgowan lands a big shot that drops Swanson! Can he finish him?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Macgowan wanted to stand there but Swanson had control of the position.

Swanson wants to stand but Macgowan is controlling the position.
Macgowan throwing strikes but missing.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Justin Macgowan wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Swanson takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Swanson gets tackled into the cage by Macgowan. Macgowan maintains the clinch.

Macgowan turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Macgowan manages to end up in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Macgowan lands a nice forearm strike.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Macgowan sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Swanson is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Swanson is looking to regain half guard here but Macgowan keeps moving and retains side control.
Swanson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Macgowan is controlling him well.
Macgowan trying to control the action but Swanson is working from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Swanson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Macgowan is trying to get an arm triangle but Swanson is defending well.

Swanson is trying to get back to his feet.
Macgowan controlling from side mount.
Swanson on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Macgowan cracks Swanson with an elbow. That is naaassty.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here as Macgowan stalls from top position.
Macgowan moves into full mount!

Macgowan lands a nice shot to the head.


That has opened up Ron Swanson's cut even more.
The referee warns Swanson that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.


The cut above Ron Swanson's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Macgowan controlling from mount.

Ron Swanson's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Ron Swanson's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Justin Macgowan!
