Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mike Bennett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Royce Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Bennett might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Stronger, Kanye West. Mike Bennett could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Royce Johnson's chin.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yuuki Gou and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bennett fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Johnson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Bennett is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bennett is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Bennett is pressing down on Johnson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Johnson is holding on for now.
Bennett has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Johnson wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Bennett.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Bennett is landing with some decent strikes but Johnson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Bennett is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Johnson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Bennett lands a big shot there that rocks Johnson but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bennett. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bennett has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bennett seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Johnson for as long as he can get away with.

Bennett will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Bennett jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Johnson is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Johnson and Bennett has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
