Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rob Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miguel Cortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva comes into the arena with MC Primo - Diretoria blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rob Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Miguel Cortez! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Mauricio Rocha and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva slips a jab and a cross from Cortez.
Cortez throws a body punch but Silva moves out of range. Cortez misses with a wild body shot. Cortez swings away with a body shot that misses
and Cortez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Cortez digs a good hook to Silva's body.
Cortez fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Silva manages to avoid it. Sloppy strikes from Cortez. Those never looked like landing. Silva cracks Cortez with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Cortez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Silva dodges the punch combination from Cortez.
Cortez is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Silva rather than just go for the knockout. Cortez throws a left and a right that both miss
and Silva counters with a lovely straight right hand! A looping hook to the body misses from Cortez. Silva does a little dance to reset his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cortez throws a right hand that Silva ducks under and follows up with a left that Silva also avoids with ease. Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Cortez keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Cortez tries to lock up and control but Silva gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Silva controlling the position easily from mount. Silva lands a nice shot to the head.
It looks like Miguel Cortez has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Cortez tries to hold on but Silva pushes him away. Silva trying to control but he's not successful this time. Silva raining down hammerfists from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Cortez's face.
Silva landing strikes from the mount and Cortez is in trouble! Silva punishing his opponent with strikes. Cortez is trying desperately to improve position. Cortez is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Silva throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Cortez has his hands clasped together but Silva breaks the hold and Cortez is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Silva!
