Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Antonio da Costa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kal Too (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). da Costa comes to the cage accompanied by Da Boondocks. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Antonio da Costa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kal Too!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Too feints a jab promting da Costa to slip. Too then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. da Costa slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
da Costa swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Too fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with da Costa, pushing him back against the cage.

Too manages to break the clinch.
da Costa tries to score with a low kick but Too moves his leg out of the way.
The crowd cheers as Too lands an impressive looking overhand right. da Costa doesn't seem phased though.

Too throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. da Costa tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Too is in da Costa's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Too passes into half guard.
da Costa wants to improve his position but Too is controlling well.
da Costa won't allow Too to pass to mount.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Too controlling the action here.

Too stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows da Costa to get to his feet.

Too feints and as da Costa raises his hands in defense, Too changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Too passes da Costa's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Too is trying to control. da Costa wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Too scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Too tries to pass to full mount but da Costa defends it.
Too is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Too thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed da Costa's head.
Too wants to pass the guard but da Costa is defending well.
Too thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Too is pressing down on da Costa's thigh, looking to free his foot. da Costa is holding on for now.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Too stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Too is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

da Costa moves into the clinch.
Too will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning da Costa up against the cage.
Too presses da Costa against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
A short uppercut from Too.

Too gets control of da Costa's arms and successfully pulls guard. Too will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
da Costa is working Too over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
da Costa trying to control the position from guard on top but Too is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
da Costa trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Too managing to control the position.
da Costa pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Too is keeping the position for now.

da Costa postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Too is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of da Costa, into his guard.

Too stands and steps away. da Costa gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Too shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kal Too dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Too circles away from the clinch attempt.
Too swats away the attempt to clinch by da Costa.
Too lands with a right hand.
da Costa is looking to clinch but Too is avoiding it.
Too looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? da Costa is fending him off so far but Too persists. Nope, da Costa circles away and we're back to standing.

Too moves into the clinch.
da Costa blocks a body shot from Too.
Too softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
da Costa wants to take the fight to the mat but Too manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Too has a couple of punches blocked by da Costa.

Too pulls guard.
Too controls da Costa momentarily but da Costa frees himself.

da Costa trying to control but Too is working from the bottom.
da Costa passes into half guard.
da Costa wants to pass to mount but Too is defending the position.
Too makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Too.
Kal Too has got the better of the ground game so far.
Too keeping moving, preventing da Costa from controlling successfully.
da Costa stopping the sweep attempt from Too.

Too is trying to control the position from the bottom.
da Costa pushing down on Too's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Too is pressing down on da Costa's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Too keeping moving, preventing da Costa from controlling successfully.
da Costa stops Too from standing up.

da Costa trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Too tries to land a sweep but no joy.
da Costa controlling from the top position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Too controls da Costa momentarily but da Costa frees himself.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Too shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and da Costa counters by moving into the clinch.
Too is pressed up against the cage. da Costa has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Too down to the mat. Too avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Too misses with a double jab.
Too tries for a takedown but da Costa sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Antonio da Costa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kal Too.
Too jabs da Costa to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Too darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Too stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows da Costa to get to his feet.
Too tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but da Costa paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Too shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches da Costa napping and manages to drive through into side control!
da Costa is trying to buck Too off.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Too wants to control but da Costa is keeping him busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kal Too showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Too shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Too showed some decent athleticism there.
da Costa is looking to escape.
da Costa is staying active underneath Too, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Too content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
da Costa is not content to let Too control the position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Too stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Too is looking to stand up but da Costa won't let him.
Too tries to free his leg and advance position but da Costa is retaining full guard.

Too decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on da Costa, up you get!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Too scores with a three punch combo!
Antonio da Costa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
da Costa stuffs the takedown attempt from Too. Too gets slowly back to his feet.

Too gets tackled into the cage by da Costa. da Costa maintains the clinch.
Antonio da Costa has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

da Costa is trying to drag Too to the mat but Too just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
da Costa is looking to take this one to the mat.
da Costa has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Too is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Antonio da Costa. That's going to take a lot out of him.

da Costa is trying to drag Too to the mat but Too just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Too avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
da Costa tries to score with a low kick but Too moves his leg out of the way.
Kal Too is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Too gets a clinch.
Too lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of da Costa backwards.

da Costa is pressed up against the cage. Too has hold of a leg and is looking to drag da Costa down to the mat. da Costa avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
da Costa tries to clinch up.

Too changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. da Costa looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Too stands up and beckons da Costa to his feet.
Too lands a head shot.
Too wants to clinch.

Too has da Costa up against the cage in a clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Too avoiding damage as da Costa throws knees to the body.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kal Too comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Too has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Kal Too tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
