PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brian Ko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pratipar Rapcheep (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Brian Ko has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Brian Ko seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brian Ko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pratipar Rapcheep!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Fujiwara and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rapcheep moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Rapcheep looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Ko slips a straight right by Rapcheep.
Rapcheep stuffs the takedown attempt from Ko. Ko gets slowly back to his feet.
Rapcheep fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rapcheep will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ko shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rapcheep's guard.

Ko decides to stand back up. Ko steps back and let's Rapcheep get back to his feet.

Ko drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Rapcheep really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rapcheep is pushing Ko's head away, looking to escape. Ko manages to hold on to the position though.

Ko tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ko has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Ko decides to stand back up. Ko steps back and let's Rapcheep get back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rapcheep moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Rapcheep throws a hook to the side of Ko's head but Ko sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Rapcheep lands with a thumping leg kick.
Nice takedown defense from Rapcheep. No joy for Ko on that attempt.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
