The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shelley shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Shelley sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jkh's guard.
Shelley is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Jkh!
Jkh is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Jkh wants to get back to his feet.
Shelley tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The referee warns Jkh that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Jkh is squirming around, avoiding Shelley's attempts to control the action.
Shelley moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Jkh has worked his arm free - good work by Jkh!

A lull in the action here as Shelley stalls from top position.
Jkh avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Shelley.
Jkh really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shelley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Shelley controls the position from side control.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Shelley shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jkh napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Jkh tries to escape but Shelley is in control.

Shelley is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Jkh's shoulder. That is not cool.

Shelley stands up and beckons Jkh to his feet.
Shelley drives through and clinches with Jkh against the cage.
Shelley tightens his grip and picks Jkh up, before dumping him to the ground. Jkh manages to land in guard.

Shelley prevents Jkh from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jkh is breathing heavily.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Shelley with a flurry of punches that miss.
Shelley is pushing down on Jkh's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jkh is fighting to maintain full guard but Shelley has managed to sneak the leg through.

Shelley landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Still in half guard, Shelley seems content to control.

Jkh has hold of Shelley's hands but Shelley slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Shelley looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

We're going to have a standup here because Austin Shelley wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Shelley closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Jkh takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Jkh is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Shelley happy to just control the position for now.
Shelley tries for a kimura but Jkh is defending well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Shelley stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Jkh to get to his feet.
Jkh takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Jkh enables Shelley to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jkh manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
