Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chris Kawalew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chris Kawalew! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Carlos Power! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Fedor Mirinova and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Power is defended easily by Kawalew. Power is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Kawalew shoots in looking for a takedown. Power tries to sprawl out of it but Kawalew keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Power manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Kawalew fails with the takedown. Sloppy strikes from Kawalew. Those never looked like landing. Kawalew dives in and grabs Power's left leg, looking for a takedown. Power pushes down on Kawalew's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Kawalew. That's going to take a lot out of him. Power shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Nice takedown defense from Power. No joy for Kawalew on that attempt. Nice sprawl there from Kawalew as Power shoots in. Kawalew bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Power's head backwards. Power has a takedown stuffed. Kawalew goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Power shoots in for a takedown but Kawalew shows good takedown defense. Kawalew throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Power shoots for a takedown but Kawalew saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Kawalew shoots in for a takedown but Power shows good takedown defense. Kawalew tries to avoid it but Power manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kawalew to the ground. Kawalew escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Kawalew shoots in for a takedown but Power shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Kawalew is breathing heavily. Kawalew throws a head kick but Power moves out of range.

He's got his arms around Power's waist but Power gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kawalew off to one side. Power fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kawalew avoids it really well and circles away. Kawalew slaps away a takedown attempt from Power, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Power drives through with a takedown into guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Power trying to control but Kawalew is working from the bottom. Power wants to stand but Kawalew has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Power decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Kawalew misses with a double jab.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Power plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
It looks like Chris Kawalew has been cut. Kawalew throws a right hand that Power ducks under and follows up with a left that Power also avoids with ease. No luck for Power with that takedown attempt. Kawalew misses with the combination.
Kawalew shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Power sprawls well. Power wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kawalew gets slowly back to his feet. Power fails with a takedown attempt. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kawalew moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Kawalew tries to score a power double leg takedown but Power sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kawalew somewhat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Carlos Power will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Chris Kawalew's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Power wants to clinch. Kawalew fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Power tries to clinch but Kawalew moves away and Kawalew counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Kawalew is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Power dives in and grabs Kawalew's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kawalew pushes down on Power's head and hops out. Power pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kawalew will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Chris Kawalew is winning the standup battle so far. Power leaves Kawalew with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Kawalew. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kawalew changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kawalew will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Power is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Kawalew reverses the position - he's now on top in Power's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Power is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Power is on top in guard.

Kawalew wants to get up but he can't break Power's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Kawalew postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Power misses with a takedown attempt - Kawalew sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kawalew tries to bum rush Power with a series of wild strikes but Power uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Power shoots in but no luck this time. Kawalew tries to clinch but Power is having none of it. Chris Kawalew is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. No luck for Kawalew with that takedown attempt. Good leg kick by Power there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Power jabs at Kawalew's body. Kawalew is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Power fails with a takedown attempt. Kawalew misses with a few strikes there.
Kawalew slips a straight right by Power. Kawalew throws a low kick but Power avoids it. Power closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Power lands in his opponent's guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Power wants to control from the top but Kawalew keeps moving.
And that's the end of the fight! Carlos Power comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Power winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
