Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shane Velasquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Werner Klemperer!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Columbo Gatti and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Velasquez gets the takedown into side control.
Klemperer prevents Velasquez from improving position.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Velasquez tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Klemperer swivels and escapes.

Velasquez closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
Klemperer with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Klemperer misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Velasquez.

Velasquez turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Velasquez manages to end up in side control.
Klemperer on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Velasquez trying to control the position but Klemperer is working away.

Velasquez decides to stand back up. Velasquez steps back and let's Klemperer get back to his feet.

Klemperer gets caught flat footed, as Velasquez shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Velasquez drops back looking for a leg! Klemperer is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Klemperer manages to kick Velasquez off! Velasquez jumps back into Klemperer's guard.

Klemperer working for submissions but it's allowed Velasquez to get to half guard.

Velasquez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Klemperer keeps working.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Klemperer turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Velasquez off and cradles Klemperer's limp body as Velasquez celebrates with his corner.
