Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Victor Sagat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorge Junior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Sagat might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to His own theme music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Victor Sagat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jorge Junior!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sagat throws a leg kick that misses.
Sagat thows a body shot but no joy.
Junior moves forwards but Sagat connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Sagat tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A chopping leg kick lands by Sagat.
Junior tries for a takedown but Sagat sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Sagat ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Junior moves away.
Sagat takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Victor Sagat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sagat lands a nice shot that snaps Junior's head back.

Junior clinches with his opponent.
Sagat crunches a lovely knee into Junior's ribcage.
The referee calls for Sagat to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sagat unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Junior tries to score a body lock takedown but Sagat shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Sagat misses with a knee to the head.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Sagat looking to throw knees to the head but Junior is blocking nicely.

Sagat tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Junior is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Sagat pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Victor Sagat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jorge Junior.
Junior throws a punch but it's blocked by Sagat.

Junior breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sagat scores with a head kick. Junior tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.


It looks like Jorge Junior has been cut.

Junior throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sagat was covering up waiting for the punch and Junior finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Sagat pulls Junior in close to his closed guard and prevents Junior from doing any damage or advancing position.

Junior has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Sagat has Junior pulled in close to control his posture.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Victor Sagat wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Sagat lands with a kick to the temple. Junior shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
A thudding body kick lands there by Sagat!
Junior takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Sagat takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Junior rushes Sagat and presses him up against the cage.
Sagat displaying some good clinch control by pressing Junior up against the cage.
Sagat throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Junior blocks it with crossed arms.
Junior lands a nice uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sagat crunches a lovely knee into Junior's ribcage.
Sagat tries to land knees in the clinch but Junior avoids the damage to the body.

Sagat lands with a kick to the temple. Junior shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Sagat pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Junior thows a body shot but no joy.

Sagat throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Junior fails with the takedown.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sagat throws a head kick but Junior moves out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Junior. Sagat does a little dance to reset his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Victor Sagat dominated that round.

That's time! Back to the action!


An inside leg kick from Sagat misses.
Sagat moves into range and connects with a jab.
Victor Sagat is winning the standup battle so far.
Junior tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sagat swivels and escapes.
Junior digs a good hook to Sagat's body.

Sagat gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Junior chips away with some ground and pound.
Sagat keeping moving, preventing Junior from controlling successfully.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Junior is fighting to break Sagat's control of his arms but Sagat is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Junior throws a big elbow that misses.
Junior tries to free his leg and advance position but Sagat is retaining full guard.
Sagat avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Junior engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Junior missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Sagat working a defensive guard but Junior manages to pass into side control anyway.
Sagat is trying to control Junior's posture but Junior avoids it.

Junior lands an elbow.
Junior cracks Sagat with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Junior moves into full mount!
Junior fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Junior thowing shots but they're missing.
Sagat is trying to escape the mount.

Sagat is in a horrible position here. Junior smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Jorge Junior has got the better of the ground game so far.

Sagat tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Junior lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Junior goes for an armbar but Sagat turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Sagat.
Sagat won't allow Junior to sweep him here.
Junior wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Sagat is now in half guard.
Junior tries to get to full guard but Sagat has control of the leg.

Junior is positioning himself well to prevent Sagat advancing to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Junior is looking for a sweep. Sagat is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Sagat wants to control but Junior is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sagat is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Junior is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Junior wants to get back to full guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Junior keeps control of the position for the meantime.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

We're going to have a standup here because Victor Sagat wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Sagat fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jorge Junior showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Junior shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Sagat tries to hold on but Junior postures up.
Junior controlling the position easily from mount.
Junior breaks from Sagat's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Sagat blocking the ground and pound.
Junior looking to control but Sagat is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Junior thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Junior swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Sagat is now in Junior's guard. A big mistake from Junior there, giving up the dominant position!

Junior has an active guard here but Sagat has managed to pass into half guard.
Junior wants to improve his position but Sagat is controlling well.
Junior is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Sagat passes into side control, despite Junior's attempt to control the position.
Sagat is looking to take a break and control but Junior is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Junior tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Sagat presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Junior bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Junior wants to pass the guard but Sagat is keeping the position.

Junior throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sagat works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Junior wants to control from the top but Sagat keeps moving.
Sagat is controlling Junior's posture.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Sagat will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Jorge Junior comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Junior has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
