Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Water Sedes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Chavo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chavo has chosen Rico Sauva by Girardo as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Water Sedes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eddie Chavo!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sedes with a lazy takedown attempt
and Chavo makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Sedes keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

and Chavo finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Chavo misses with a body kick.
Sedes fails with the takedown

and Chavo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Sedes won't be happy with that.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Water Sedes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Chavo has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Sedes takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Chavo will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Sedes tries for a takedown but Chavo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Sedes manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Chavo on his heels. He'll look to pass Chavo's guard now, I'm sure.
Sedes pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Chavo is keeping the position for now.
Chavo keeping moving, preventing Sedes from controlling successfully.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Water Sedes just wasn't active enough.
Sedes changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Chavo tries to avoid it but Sedes manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Chavo to the ground. Chavo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Chavo counters with a takedown into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sedes is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Chavo has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sedes is trying to control Chavo's posture but Chavo avoids it.
Chavo wants to stand but Sedes is controlling his arm.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Chavo stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Chavo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Sedes fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Chavo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sedes.

Sedes shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Chavo is trying to stand back up but Sedes is controlling him
Sedes wants to free his trapped foot but Chavo is holding on for dear life with his legs.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sedes sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Chavo defending well though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eddie Chavo dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Sedes shoots in for a takedown but Chavo shows good takedown defense.
Sedes is trying hard to land a takedown here. Chavo sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Chavo scores with a head kick.

Chavo tries to sprawl but Sedes drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Sedes thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Sedes is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Chavo is just riding it out for now. Sedes eventually gives up the hold.

Chavo is trying to stand back up but Sedes is controlling him
Sedes wants to control but Chavo is keeping him busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Water Sedes wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Sedes gets the takedown into side control.
Sedes wants to control but Chavo is keeping him busy.
Sedes tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Sedes is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Chavo has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Chavo is pushing Sedes's head away, looking to escape. Sedes manages to hold on to the position though.

Sedes tries for a kimura but Chavo is defending well.

Sedes has hold of Chavo's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Chavo seems comfortable defending it but Sedes has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Chavo is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Chavo is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Sedes couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Water Sedes!
