Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dan Henderson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tony Macmillan! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Henderson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Henderson misses with a looping right. Henderson jabs Macmillan to the body, keeping him at a distance. Macmillan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Henderson as he avoids it easily. Henderson connects with a crisp jab. Macmillan misses with a takedown attempt and Henderson counters with a stiff right hand. Macmillan walks into a straight right hand from Henderson. Henderson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Macmillan takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Henderson clinches up with Macmillan and pushes him back against the cage. Henderson stalling.
Macmillan has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Henderson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Dan Henderson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tony Macmillan. Macmillan drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Macmillan is rocked! Henderson breaks from the clinch.
Macmillan is still on wobbly legs! Can Henderson finish him? Dan Henderson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Macmillan moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Henderson connects with a combination that backs up Macmillan into the cage. Henderson lands a flurry of punches that gets past Macmillan's guard. Macmillan is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Henderson bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dan Henderson! Dan Henderson retains his middleweight title! In his post fight interview, Dan Henderson started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
