Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Great Pete! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Calvin Fisher! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Taro Takaoka and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pete instigates a clinch. Fisher is trying to break the clinch but Pete is controlling him. Fisher wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Pete has him pressed against the cage. Fisher jumps guard and drags Pete to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Pete drops back looking for a leg! Fisher is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fisher manages to kick Pete off! Pete jumps back into Fisher's guard. Pete will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Pete is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Pete with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Pete thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Fisher working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Pete. Fisher is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pete is aware though and is defending well. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hammerfist, elbow! yells Pete's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Pete is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Fisher is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Fisher has escaped and now he's on top! Pete looking for a guillotine here but Fisher defends easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fisher is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Pete has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Fisher is looking to defend but Pete has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Fisher! Pete pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Fisher taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Great Pete!
