The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holmes is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Jackson.
Holmes has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Holmes there as he acknowledges the shot.
Jackson misses with the combination.
A nice inside leg kick there by Jackson. That's going to slow Holmes down.
Jackson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Holmes's hands.
Holmes swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jackson scores with a decent looking hook.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Holmes tries to close the distance and clinch but Jackson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Jackson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Holmes avoids a punch combination nicely.
Action Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jackson looks to land a combination but Holmes avoids it well.
Jackson misses with a wild combination.
Jackson throws a series of punches but Holmes avoids them all with ease.
Jackson misses with a few strikes there.
No joy there for Holmes, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Holmes needs to keep his hands up - Jackson had a free shot at his head there.
Action Jackson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Holmes counters with a shoot takedown. Jackson fights it but they end up in guard.
Holmes has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jackson is proving hard to escape from.
Jackson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Jackson is breathing heavily.
Jackson looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Jackson wants to stand and escape but Holmes is having none of it.
Jackson trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Jackson is trying to control the position but Holmes postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jackson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Jackson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Holmes does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
