Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Estep (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Estep comes into the arena with Courageous blaring out of the sound system. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brian Estep! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Smith! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith tries for a takedown but Estep circles away easily and Estep counters with a nice double leg into side control. Smith won't be happy with that. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Smith is trying to control Estep's posture but Estep avoids it. Estep throwing shots but missing, from side control. Smith should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Smith misses with an elbow from the bottom. Estep tries to move into full mount but can't pass Smith's legs. Smith wants to control but Estep postures up. Smith is looking to reverse the position. Estep throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Smith works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Estep blocks the strikes from Smith.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith wants to sweep but Estep has passed to side control! Smith regains half guard. Smith missing with punches from the bottom.
Estep is thwarting Smith's attempts to control the position. Estep knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground. Smith looking for submissions off his back. Smith looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Smith has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith is trying to stand back up but Estep is controlling him
Estep stands up from half guard. David Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Smith shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Estep is trying to defend but Smith finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Estep tries to get to full guard but Smith has control of the leg. Estep punching from the bottom.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Estep avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Smith.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith is looking for a kimura but Estep is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Smith to get the leverage. Estep trying to control but Smith postures up.
Smith is working for a submission of some sort.
Smith looks gassed! Smith is thwarting Estep's attempts to control the position. Smith trying to control from half guard but Estep is working away. Smith thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Estep's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith is nestled in close to Estep, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Smith is trying to work for a kimura but Estep is defending well.
Estep lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage. Estep regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Smith. Estep is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Smith drops back looking for a leg! Estep is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Estep manages to kick Smith off! Smith jumps back into Estep's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but David Smith will probably get the nod. That's time! Estep's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Estep displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Smith. Estep fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Smith fails with the takedown. Smith shoots for a takedown but Estep saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Brian Estep has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Smith. Smith will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Smith fails to land the takedown. Smith is breathing heavily. Estep fails with the takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round. Estep fails with the takedown. Smith moves in looking to clinch but Estep pushes him off. Estep slaps away a takedown attempt from Smith, before circling back to the center of the mat. Estep fails to land with a series of punches.
Smith shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Estep counters into the clinch. Nicely done. A frustrated look appears on Smith's face as he tries to break the clinch. Smith changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Estep fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Brian Estep is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Estep shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Estep not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Estep trying to control but Smith is working from the bottom. Estep pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Smith is keeping the position for now. Smith working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Estep doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Estep manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Estep showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Smith tries to strike from the bottom.
Estep makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Smith looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Estep passes into half guard.
Estep stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Smith to get to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith with a lazy takedown attempt and Estep counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Nice strikes from Estep there. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Smith tries to roll over but Estep keeps him under control. Estep perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Estep lands with a punch from half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Estep seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Estep is looking to take a break and control but Smith is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Smith looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Estep is fending him off so far but Smith persists. Nope, Estep circles away and we're back to standing. Smith fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Estep avoids it really well and circles away. Smith misses with a series of wild punches.
Estep pushes Smith up against the cage in a clinch. Estep breaks from the clinch.
Estep looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Estep trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Estep decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Smith, up you get! Smith shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Estep defends it nicely. Brian Estep has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Smith. Smith shoots for a takedown but Estep saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Estep lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Smith shoots in for a takedown but Estep shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Estep looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Estep is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Estep is in close to Smith's body, working some short punches and elbows. Estep landing with the ground and pound. Smith throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Smith working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Estep has passed into half guard!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Estep stands up from half guard. A thudding body kick lands there by Estep!
Smith with a poor takedown and Estep counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Smith's guard now. Estep stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard. Smith has his feet on Estep's thighs here. He's pushed Estep off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Estep screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
