Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Austin Rumble (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Brando (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumble kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Click Click Boom. Austin Rumble has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Brando!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brando has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like James Brando has been cut.
Rumble misses with a double jab.
Austin Rumble seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rumble escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rumble tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Brando swivels and escapes.

Rumble goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rumble moves in looking to clinch but Brando pushes him off.

Rumble gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Brando to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Brando looking to sit in guard and control but Rumble gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Rumble is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Brando not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Rumble is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Rumble lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Brando backs up against the ropes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

No joy there for Rumble, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Rumble throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brando's waist but Brando gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rumble off to one side.

Rumble lands a leg kick that knocks Brando off balance momentarily.

Horrible takedown by Rumble or perhaps it was just good defense by Brando which made him look bad.

Rumble is trying to drag Brando to the mat but Brando just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.

Brando ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rumble moves away.

Rumble avoids the head kick by Brando.
Rumble is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Rumble moves out of range as Brando strikes.
Rumble is looking to clinch.

Brando shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Brando showed some decent athleticism there.
Brando wants to take a breather but Rumble is having none of it.
Rumble tries to get to full guard but Brando has control of the leg.

Brando wants to work for an arm triangle but Rumble is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Brando is looking to stall here but Rumble recovers full guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rumble, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
