Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dale Rossi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cruz Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rossi comes to the cage accompanied by Heavy Metal! . This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendes throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Mendes misses with a head kick.
Rossi misses with a wild combination.
Rossi throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Mendes tries a head kick but it misses.
Rossi shoots for a takedown but Mendes saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Mendes scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Rossi throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Mendes cracks Rossi with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Mendes getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Rossi misses with a low kick.
Mendes lands a head kick. Rossi smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Mendes takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Rossi closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Mendes struggles to land a body shot inside as Rossi controls his hands.
Mendes trying to control the position but instead, Rossi has worked for underhooks and has pushed Mendes into the cage.
Mendes is looking to break free of the clinch but Rossi has double underhooks.
Rossi is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Mendes is trying to pull guard but Rossi has him pressed against the cage.
Mendes misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Rossi wants the takedown. Mendes is fighting it off but Rossi persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Mendes's guard against the cage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rossi forces his way into half guard.
Rossi is breathing heavily.
Rossi seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Mendes is in trouble now - Rossi has advanced to mount!

Mendes is desperately trying to improve his position but Rossi has a good base and remains in mount.

Mendes stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Mendes dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Rossi. That did some damage!

Mendes bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Cruz Mendes seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Rossi has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Mendes.
Mendes connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Crunch! Mendes slams his shin into Rossi's torso.
Rossi on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Mendes plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Rossi instigates a clinch.
Rossi keeps control of Mendes as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Rossi is trying to force a seperation but Mendes has the dominant position.
Mendes misses with a hook to the ribs.

Rossi changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Mendes fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Mendes throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Mendes goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Cruz Mendes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Mendes is looking to clinch but Rossi is avoiding it.
Rossi tries for a takedown but Mendes sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Mendes throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Mendes throws a body kick that misses.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Rossi crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Mendes - the referee stops the clock and Rossi gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Mendes. Rossi manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Rossi shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mendes pinned against the cage. Mendes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mendes slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
The crowd cheers as Mendes lands an impressive looking overhand right. Rossi doesn't seem phased though.

Rossi takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Rossi doesn't manage to clinch there - Mendes circles away.

Rossi takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Rossi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mendes defends it nicely.
Mendes leaves Rossi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Rossi takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Rossi throws a low kick, looking for Mendes's leg but Mendes calmly moves out of range.

Mendes thumps Rossi with a low kick.
Rossi shoots in for a double leg but Mendes sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Rossi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Mendes connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Rossi moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Mendes leaves Rossi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Rossi steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Mendes. That one must have hurt.
Rossi moves out of range as Mendes strikes.
Mendes feints and then cracks Rossi's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Rossi down.
Rossi closes the distance and clinches up with Mendes, looking for a takedown. Rossi pushes Mendes against the cage but Mendes circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Rossi looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Cruz Mendes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Mendes has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Cruz Mendes rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
