Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Niko Winter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hamid Anubis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hamid Anubis will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Niko Winter! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hamid Anubis! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Damien Edna and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anubis fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Winter sprawls well initially but Anubis persists and gets the takedown into half guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Winter wants to control but Anubis passes into side.
Anubis working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Anubis is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Winter has escaped the position, nice work there. Winter is trying to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anubis decides to stand up, so the ref orders Winter to his feet. Winter misses with a series of wild punches.
Winter defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Anubis. Anubis looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Winter is fending him off so far but Anubis persists. Nope, Winter circles away and we're back to standing. Winter thuds a left hand into Anubis's body. Winter throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Anubis stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. A punch combination from Winter misses. Anubis tries to close the distance and clinch but Winter swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Winter scores with a nice strike. Winter lands with a cross. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Winter misses with a body shot.
Winter thows a body shot but no joy. Anubis takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
It looks like Hamid Anubis has been cut. Winter sizes up Anubis with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Anubis shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Winter sprawls well. Winter wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Anubis gets slowly back to his feet. Niko Winter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hamid Anubis. Winter thows a body shot but no joy. Anubis fails with the takedown. Winter lands a really nice looking cross but Anubis seems unphased.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anubis dives in and grabs Winter's left leg, looking for a takedown. Winter pushes down on Anubis's head and hops out. Anubis tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Winter waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Anubis. Winter misses the shot to the body. Anubis shoots in but Winter avoids the takedown attempt easily. Niko Winter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice jab there from Winter. Anubis takes the fight into the clinch. Winter doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Anubis is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Anubis lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Winter! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Winter is in all sorts of trouble here.
Anubis is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Winter is surviving well by controlling Anubis's body position as best he can. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Winter is just holding on here. Anubis manages to take his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Hamid Anubis will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Hamid Anubis's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Anubis shoots in but no luck this time. Anubis on the wrong end of a nice hook. Anubis slips a straight right by Winter. Anubis tries for a takedown but Winter sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Anubis ducks under a wild hook from Winter. Winter scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Anubis keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Winter. Anubis shoots in and drives through. Winter sprawls well. Niko Winter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hamid Anubis. Winter throws an overhand right that lands on Anubis's shoulder, as Anubis tries to avoid the shot. Winter lands a nice hook to Anubis's body. Anubis takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Winter, as that shot connected.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Winter here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Winter fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Anubis manages to avoid it. Winter lands a glancing blow to the side of Anubis's head. Winter lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Anubis at a distance.
Winter cracks a nice hook into Anubis's ribs. Nice straight punches there by Winter. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Winter. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Anubis takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Winter dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Winter swinging wildly here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Winter lands with a hook. Anubis tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Winter lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Winter lands with a right hand. Niko Winter is winning the standup battle so far. Winter cracks a nice hook into Anubis's ribs. Hamid Anubis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Winter ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Anubis moves away. Anubis takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

That has opened up Hamid Anubis's cut even more. Winter dances in with a quick combination. Anubis is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Winter snaps Anubis's head back. Anubis stumbles backwards against the cage. Winter steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Anubis's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Anubis just didn't come prepared.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Niko Winter! Niko Winter is the new heavyweight champion!
