Murder Case struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.4lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jorden Bautista! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Murder Case! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Steve Erwin and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bautista lands with a slapping head kick. Case throws a lazy body kick and Bautista counters with a flying knee that sends his opponent to the canvas! Bautista looking to finish!
Case is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bautista trying to control but Case is working from the bottom. Case is still in real trouble! Can Bautista finish him? Bautista preventing the sweep. Bautista drops back looking for a leg! Case is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Case manages to kick Bautista off! Bautista jumps back into Case's guard. Case is trying to keep Bautista in close.
Bautista trying to control the position from guard on top but Case is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Case seems to have recovered his senses. Bautista thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bautista preventing the sweep. Bautista sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Case's guard. Bautista is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Case sees it coming and defends easily. Case is staying active underneath Bautista, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Bautista looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Bautista seems to be working for a kimura but Case defends the submission attempt. Bautista is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bautista wants to free his trapped foot but Case is holding on for dear life with his legs. Bautista wants to work for an arm triangle but Case is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bautista is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Case is just riding it out for now. Bautista eventually gives up the hold. Bautista passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Case! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Case can't escape the position.
Bautista avoids the attempt from Case to control. Bautista manages to capitalize on a mistake by Case to take his back! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bautista has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Case is in real trouble here. Bautista gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Case is tapping out! Bautista wins by rear naked choke!
