The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sperry jabs De La Hoya right on the nose. De La Hoya blinks but takes it well.
It looks like Roger De La Hoya has been cut.
De La Hoya ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Sperry shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
De La Hoya sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Sperry to the ground! De La Hoya dives into full mount looking to finish!
It looks like Mario Sperry has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Sperry tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Sperry's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Sperry manages to regain half guard. Good work.

De La Hoya throws a body kick that misses.
De La Hoya lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Sperry crumples to the floor! De La Hoya milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!
