Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joshua Blackshaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Death Above (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blackshaw comes to the cage accompanied by Frank Sinatra - Ain't that a Kick in the Head. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Joshua Blackshaw! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Death Above! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blackshaw misses with a double jab.
Blackshaw misses with a straight left. Blackshaw misses with a hook
and Above counters with a left and a right that stings Blackshaw. Blackshaw swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Blackshaw throws a combination that misses and Above counters with a one-two to the body. Above lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Blackshaw throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Blackshaw tries to clinch but Above moves out of range. A shot to the body from Blackshaw misses and Above counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Blackshaw's guard now. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Above trying to control but Blackshaw is working from the bottom. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Blackshaw is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Above is aware though and is defending well. Above pushes down on Blackshaw's leg and manages to get into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Blackshaw is trying to get back to full guard. Above keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Blackshaw might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Above trying to advance position but Blackshaw counters by regaining guard. Blackshaw keeping moving, preventing Above from controlling successfully. Blackshaw is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Blackshaw looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Blackshaw is working for a kimura but Above is defending it quite comfortably.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Blackshaw passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Above! Blackshaw stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blackshaw shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Above as he jumps to the side. Blackshaw tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Above paws at him with a jab and circles away. Above defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Blackshaw. Blackshaw looks for a takedown but Above sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joshua Blackshaw. That's going to take a lot out of him. Blackshaw misses with a takedown attempt - Above sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Blackshaw is breathing heavily. Nice cross by Above. Joshua Blackshaw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Blackshaw will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Above shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Blackshaw eats them both and turns towards Above to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Above throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Above fails miserably with a takedown attempt. No joy there for Above, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Above darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Blackshaw manages to regain full guard. Nice work. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Blackshaw will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Above trying to control the position from guard on top but Blackshaw is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Above is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Above wants to control from the top but Blackshaw keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Death Above will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

It looks like Death Above has been cut. Blackshaw shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Above as he avoids it easily. Blackshaw fails with an attempt to clinch.
Above is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Above shoots in looking for a takedown but Blackshaw manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Above's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Above bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Blackshaw tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Above swivels and escapes. Above lands a high kick!

Above won't allow Blackshaw to sweep him here. Above looking to pass the guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Blackshaw misses with a double jab
and Above cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. The fight stays on the outside here - Blackshaw looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Blackshaw takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Blackshaw closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Blackshaw swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Above is now in Blackshaw's guard. A big mistake from Blackshaw there, giving up the dominant position! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Blackshaw looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Blackshaw is working hard here to advance position. Blackshaw can't keep his opponent in guard - Above advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Blackshaw makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Blackshaw. Blackshaw escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Above gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Above stopping the sweep attempt from Blackshaw.

Blackshaw tries to buck Above off but Above is having none of it. Above wants to lay and pray for a moment but Blackshaw keeps working. Above has an Americana. Blackshaw didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Above is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Above hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
