Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alexandre Nieto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masakatsu Gomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nieto comes to the cage accompanied by Bullet the Blue Sky. Gomi has chosen Lose Yourself as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Nieto.
Nieto just misses with a punch to the body.
A slapping leg kick lands for Nieto.
Gomi dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Nieto. That did some damage!
Nieto tries to work over Gomi's front leg with a kick but Gomi checks it.
Gomi throws a left and a right that both miss
and Nieto connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Gomi moves out of range of the leg kick from Nieto.
Nice jab there from Gomi.
Gomi misses with a looping left.
Nieto throws a nice outside leg kick.
Good work by Gomi as he checks the leg kick.
A nice leg kick lands there from Nieto.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gomi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Gomi avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Gomi controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Gomi is looking to stand up but Nieto won't let him.
That's one minute gone in the round.

Nieto escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gomi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Nieto avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Gomi cracks Nieto with a solid left hand.
Nieto working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gomi.
Gomi is sitting in close to Nieto's body. Nieto has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Gomi is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Gomi is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Nieto.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Alexandre Nieto!

A very excited looking Alexandre Nieto made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
