Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chance Taken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesse Venturia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Venturia has chosen Coolio - Gangsta's Paradise as his entrance music. Jesse Venturia will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chance Taken!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jesse Venturia!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Taken gets a double leg takedown into Venturia's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Taken wants to pass the guard but Venturia is keeping the position.
Venturia wants to stand and escape but Taken is having none of it.
Taken throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Taken engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Venturia tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Taken is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Taken walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Taken throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Venturia tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Taken is in Venturia's guard.

Venturia can't keep his opponent in guard - Taken advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Venturia is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Venturia looks like he's trying to stand up.

Taken is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Venturia is just riding it out for now. Taken eventually gives up the hold.
Taken throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Taken sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Taken has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Venturia is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Taken's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Taken's back!

Venturia has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Taken has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

You can see the frustration on Taken's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Taken manages to reverse the position and now he's in Venturia's guard. Nice work there by Taken.

Venturia wants to sweep but no luck.
Taken throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Venturia works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Taken is pushing down on Venturia's leg trying to pass to half guard. Venturia is fighting to maintain full guard but Taken has managed to sneak the leg through.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Venturia wants to control but Taken passes into side.
You can see the frustration on Venturia's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Taken shoots in looking for a takedown. Venturia tries to sprawl out of it but Taken keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Venturia manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Taken is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Venturia's half guard.

Taken is staying tight to Venturia's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Taken is trying to control the action in half guard but Venturia is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Chance Taken.
Venturia throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Taken trying to control the position from guard on top but Venturia is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Taken's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Taken lands a couple of elbows.
Venturia is trying to keep Taken in close.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Taken stands and steps away. Venturia gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Venturia ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Jesse Venturia is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Venturia misses with a looping left.
Taken fails in his attempt to clinch.
Taken takes a shot right to the bread basket.
No joy there for Venturia, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jesse Venturia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A clash of legs there as Taken blocks the low kick.
Taken shoots in and drives through. Venturia sprawls well.
Nice takedown defense from Venturia. No joy for Taken on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chance Taken. That's going to take a lot out of him.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Venturia is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Taken tries to free his leg and advance position but Venturia is retaining full guard.
Chance Taken overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Venturia can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Taken controls the pace.
Venturia is adopting a defensive guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Venturia is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Chance Taken will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Venturia tests Taken's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Venturia stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Taken fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chance Taken. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Venturia keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Taken shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Venturia as he avoids it easily.

Taken avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Taken avoids the head kick by Venturia.
Donk. Taken catches Venturia right on the button with a cross.
Taken takes a head kick and keeps coming.
The fighters circle, before Venturia throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Taken's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Venturia lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). Jesse Venturia!
A pretty intense looking Jesse Venturia took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
