Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Renan Ruas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Charles Skarbowsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ruas kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is ATB- Could you believe. 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jean Charles Skarbowsky! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ruas pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ruas swings away with a body shot that misses
and Ruas takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Ruas swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Skarbowsky looks to clinch and Ruas holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Skarbowsky creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Ruas misses with a punch to the body.

It looks like Renan Ruas has been cut. Skarbowsky prevents a takedown attempt there.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Ruas circles away from the clinch attempt and Ruas counters with a nice uppercut. Skarbowsky takes the fight into the clinch. Ruas tries to pull guard but Skarbowsky forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Ruas fails to pull guard.

He has hold of a leg but Skarbowsky is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Ruas persists though and gets the takedown into guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Skarbowsky is looking to stand up but Ruas isn't so interested in that idea. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Skarbowsky is pulling down on Ruas's head. It's preventing any offense from Ruas, at least for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jean Charles Skarbowsky dominated that round. The cut man is working on Renan Ruas's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Ruas closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Ruas drags the fight down to the ground.
Ruas pushes Skarbowsky off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Ruas misses with a hook. Skarbowsky ducked under it nicely. Ruas fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Skarbowsky, pushing him back against the cage. Ruas drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Skarbowsky. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Ruas tries to pull guard but Skarbowsky forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Jean Charles Skarbowsky seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Ruas trying to stall but Skarbowsky improves his position.
