Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mauricio Rua!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rex Parker!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker thows a left - swing and a miss!
Parker slips a jab and a cross from Rua.
Parker rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rua moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Rex Parker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Parker throws a leg kick but Rua checks it.
Good exchange - Parker coming out on top.
Parker stalks Rua and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Rua's face. Rua staggers backwards, shaken.
Rua dives in and grabs Parker's left leg, looking for a takedown. Parker pushes down on Rua's head and hops out.

and Rua counters with a single leg into guard. Parker didn't expect that.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Rua stands and throws Parker's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Rua is trying to get an arm triangle but Parker is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Parker's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Rua wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Parker, who protects the arm well.
Rua thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Rua is looking to take a break and control but Parker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Parker flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Parker tries to bum rush Rua with a series of wild strikes but Rua uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Rua with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Parker to score with a decent uppercut.
Parker looks to land a right hand but Rua moved out of range.

No luck for Rua with that takedown attempt.
Parker will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Rua closes this distance looking for a takedown but Parker circles away.
Parker lands a nice leg kick that just misses Rua's sensitive parts.
Rua shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Parker pinned against the cage. Parker gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Rua on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Rua stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Parker.
Parker fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Rua.
Parker throws a push kick but Rua slaps the foot to one side.
Parker throws a sloppy head kick and Rua moves out of range easily.
Parker connects with a good right hand that stumbles Rua. Rua circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Rex Parker seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Parker throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Parker with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Parker cracks Rua with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Parker has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Rua to stand back up!
Rua is rocked!
Parker sends Rua crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Parker is motioning to the referee to let Rua up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Oh Rua is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Parker ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Rua out cold! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Rex Parker!
