Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Asher Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Santiago has chosen Asesinos - Los Crudos as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

22 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Asher Lee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Santiago! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Mauricio Rocha and Matheus Silva.

and Santiago counters with a nice body shot. Santiago misses with a straight left. Santiago lands a jab to the head.
Lee displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Santiago. Lee tries to bum rush Santiago with a series of wild strikes but Santiago uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Santiago closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lee circles away. and Lee counters with a straight right hand. Santiago shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Santiago tries to free his leg and advance position but Lee is retaining full guard. Santiago throws an elbow that misses. Lee uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Santiago's guard. Nice move by Lee! Santiago working for a triangle but Lee defends it easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Lee has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Santiago is proving hard to escape from. Lee tries to free his leg and advance position but Santiago is retaining full guard. Santiago is pulling down on Lee's head. It's preventing any offense from Lee, at least for the moment. Lee stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Santiago swivels though and keeps the full guard. Lee is working hard here to advance position. Santiago wants to control but Lee is keeping him busy. Santiago postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Lee is not content to let Santiago control the position. Lee tries to control but Santiago manages to take his back. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Santiago misses with an elbow to the head. That's one minute gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Santiago connects with a nice short shot to Lee's temple. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Santiago is looking to take a break and control but Lee is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Santiago not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Santiago is looking for a kimura but Lee is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Santiago to get the leverage. Antonio Santiago showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Santiago cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Santiago wants to finish this one by submission but Lee is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Santiago. Antonio Santiago is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Lee tries to hold on but Santiago pushes him away. And that's the end of the fight! Antonio Santiago comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Santiago has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
