Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith fails with the takedown
and Kidd counters with a nice double leg into side control. Smith won't be happy with that.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Smith is letting Kidd control him for a moment.
Smith is not content to let Kidd control the position.
Smith tries to buck Kidd off but Kidd is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Smith is trying to control Kidd's posture but Kidd avoids it.
Dirk Kidd has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Kidd closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Smith to the mat! Smith manages to get full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kidd sitting in guard here, content to control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Smith is looking to sinch up a triangle. Kidd throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Smith's body to avoid the submission. Smith has instead reached around Kidd's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Smith arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Mackenzie Smith!
