Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Crow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Andy Crow will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shields fails to land the takedown.

Shields shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Shields seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Crow does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Crow is trying to get back to full guard.
Crow trying to hold on to Shields's head to control him but Shields postures up.
Shields is trying to control. Crow wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Shields throws a sloppy head kick and Crow moves out of range easily.
Shields tries to score a power double leg takedown but Crow sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Shields somewhat.

Crow has clasped his hands together around Shields's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Crow remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Shields feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Crow working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shields doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shields manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Crow is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Shields defends well.

Horrible takedown by Shields or perhaps it was just good defense by Crow which made him look bad.

Crow changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shields looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Crow fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Shields sprawls well initially but Crow persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Crow is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Shields doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Crow.

Crow frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Crow is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Crow throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shields's waist but Shields gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Crow off to one side.

Shields stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Shields wants it to stay on the feet.

Shields looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Shields is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Shields is taking a breather. Crow says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Crow is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

I would just about give that final round to Andy Crow.
Well Crow has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
