Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Wes Ekwall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grimly Fiendish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ekwall comes into the arena with Linkin Park--One Step Closer blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Wes Ekwall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Grimly Fiendish! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Chris Saunders and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ekwall is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Ekwall gets caught napping as Fiendish dives in and scores a takedown. Ekwall manages to retain guard. Fiendish stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ekwall swivels though and keeps the full guard. Ekwall looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Fiendish is pushing down on Ekwall's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ekwall is fighting to maintain full guard but Fiendish has managed to sneak the leg through. Fiendish is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Fiendish sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Ekwall defending well though. Fiendish not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Ekwall gets full guard. Fiendish connects with a couple of short punches. Fiendish with a flurry of punches that miss. Ekwall will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Fiendish jumps back into Ekwall's guard. Fiendish gets to his feet. Ekwall looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Ekwall dodges the punch combination from Fiendish.
Ekwall tries to clinch up. Fiendish is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ekwall's half guard. Fiendish is thwarting Ekwall's attempts to control the position. Fiendish stops Ekwall from getting back to his feet.

Grimly Fiendish showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

The ref stands the fighters back up. Wes Ekwall wasn't doing enough on the ground. A momentary lapse in concentration from Ekwall enables Fiendish to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ekwall manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Fiendish trying to control but Ekwall is working from the bottom. Ekwall wants to get back to his feet but Fiendish is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Ekwall trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Ekwall looking to hit a scissor sweep but Fiendish is one step ahead there.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ekwall trying to control here.

And that's the end of the fight! Grimly Fiendish comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Fiendish has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
