The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aijala looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Mkhalele closes the distance looking to clinch
and Aijala counters with a straight right hand.
It looks like Tristan Mkhalele has been cut.
Nice combo by Aijala! Oh, that's hurt him - Mkhalele falls to the canvas and Aijala follows him into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Aijala stands up.
Aijala misses with a series of wild punches.
Mkhalele tries to clinch up but Aijala circles away and keeps his distance.
Aijala leaves Mkhalele with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Aijala drops his shoulder and cracks Mkhalele with a huge uppercut! Mkhalele goes down! Can Aijala finish him?

Oh but Mkhalele is tightening it up a little... Aijala has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Aijala reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Aijala taps out! Nice BJJ there by Mkhalele!
