Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eugene Lofty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Twitchell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Don Twitchell will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eugene Lofty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Don Twitchell!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jonathan Paton and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Twitchell tries to clinch there but Lofty circles away.
Lofty shoots in for a takedown but Twitchell shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Twitchell has taken the fight to the clinch.
Lofty is looking to control Twitchell's arms but Twitchell gets an underhook and turns him. Now Lofty has his back to the cage.
Twitchell tries to throw a body punch but Lofty avoids it by throwing Twitchell back against the cage.
Twitchell tries for a takedown. No joy.

Twitchell manages to pull guard.
Twitchell keeping moving, preventing Lofty from controlling successfully.
Twitchell has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Lofty has passed into side control.
Twitchell tries to buck Lofty off but Lofty is having none of it.
Lofty wants to lay and pray for a moment but Twitchell keeps working.
Lofty is working Twitchell over with some ground and pound from side control.

Lofty tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lofty has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Twitchell is trying to control Lofty's posture but Lofty avoids it.
Lofty wants to stand but Twitchell is controlling his arm.
Lofty controls the position.
Lofty is looking to take a break and control but Twitchell is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Twitchell is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Lofty's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Twitchell makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Twitchell.

Twitchell is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lofty is aware though and is defending well.
Twitchell is looking to stand up but Lofty isn't so interested in that idea.

Lofty is pressing down on Twitchell's thigh, looking to free his foot. Twitchell is holding on for now.

Lofty is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Twitchell has managed to free his arm - good work.
Lofty tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Twitchell.

A close round but Don Twitchell will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Twitchell tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lofty paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Twitchell stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Twitchell wants it to stay on the feet.
Twitchell will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Twitchell slaps away a takedown attempt from Lofty, before circling back to the center of the mat.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Don Twitchell hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Twitchell shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lofty defends it nicely.
Eugene Lofty has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Don Twitchell.
Lofty tries to clinch but Twitchell is having none of it.

Lofty closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Lofty is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Twitchell is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Lofty could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Twitchell stands up from Lofty's guard - Twitchell perhaps looking for a knockout.

Twitchell fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

and Twitchell counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Lofty is lucky that one didn't land flush.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Twitchell gets to his feet - Lofty follows without any prompting.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Don Twitchell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

and Twitchell counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Lofty is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Lofty wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Twitchell has him pressed against the cage.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Twitchell holds on and takes a little breather.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Twitchell is on top in guard.

Lofty is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Lofty not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Twitchell stands up from guard. Let's bang!

and Twitchell counters with a head kick. That will keep Lofty thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Twitchell shoots in looking for a takedown but Lofty manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Twitchell's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Twitchell takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Lofty fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Lofty shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Twitchell looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Twitchell is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Twitchell had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lofty defends it easily.
Lofty pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Twitchell is keeping the position for now.
Twitchell manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Twitchell can't control as he wanted to and Lofty manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

Don Twitchell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Twitchell has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
