Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Blanket Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manny Tapia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Bad. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tapia swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jackson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Tapia counters by clinching up. Tapia wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jackson has him pressed against the cage. Tapia breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Tapia is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Jackson tries to clinch up and Tapia counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Jackson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Jackson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jackson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Tapia has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Jackson swings around for an armbar but Tapia sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Jackson's guard. Tapia would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Tapia gets to his feet. Jackson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Jackson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Tapia. Jackson tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Tapia connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Jackson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Tapia has one foot on Jackson's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Jackson tries to clinch but Tapia is having none of it. Jackson misses with a wild body shot. Manny Tapia is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tapia instigates a clinch. Tapia pulls Jackson into guard.
Jackson tries to free his leg and advance position but Tapia is retaining full guard. Jackson is breathing heavily. Tapia wants to stand up but Jackson is controlling him. Jackson trying to move into half guard but instead Tapia has managed to sweep! Jackson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson fails to take his opponent's back. Jackson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Tapia is now in Jackson's guard. A big mistake from Jackson there, giving up the dominant position! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jackson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Jackson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tapia gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Tapia gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Manny Tapia dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Tapia takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Jackson misses with a combination
enabling Tapia to counter with a crisp jab. Jackson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Jackson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Jackson goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Tapia turns into him and now he's in Jackson's guard.

Jackson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Jackson is looking for a sweep. Tapia is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Tapia wants to stand up but Jackson has a hold of him and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Jackson actively working from the bottom here. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Tapia wants to stand up but Jackson has a hold of him and won't allow it. Jackson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Jackson is looking for a triangle but Tapia pushes his legs off easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Tapia decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Tapia scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Tapia throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Jackson counters with a flying knee. Nice. Blanket Jackson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jackson gets a clinch. Jackson breaks the clinch.
Tapia tries to clinch but fails miserably and Jackson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Tapia's guard now. Jackson passes into half guard. Jackson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson seems to be working for a kimura but Tapia defends the submission attempt. Blanket Jackson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jackson moves into full mount! Tapia won't be happy about that! Jackson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Tapia is surviving well by controlling Jackson's body position as best he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tapia misses with a right hand and Jackson counters with a shoot takedown. Tapia fights it but they end up in guard. Jackson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Tapia is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Tapia has escaped and now he's on top! Jackson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Jackson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tapia doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tapia manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Tapia must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Jackson has his foot on Tapia's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tapia works his way back into a safe position though. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Jackson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Jackson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Tapia defends it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Tapia is just riding it out for now. Jackson eventually gives up the hold. Jackson frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson goes for an armbar but Tapia turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Tapia. Jackson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tapia can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Tapia decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Tapia forces Jackson back against the cage and clinches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Tapia is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Tapia breaks from the clinch.
Nice sprawl there from Tapia as Jackson shoots in. Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tapia swats him away and circles back towards the center. Tapia throws a series of punches but Jackson moves out of range. Tapia listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Tapia throws a combination that misses and Jackson counters with a shoot takedown. Tapia fights it but they end up in guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Tapia wants to stand but Jackson is controlling the position. Jackson is pushing down on Tapia's leg trying to pass to half guard. Tapia is fighting to maintain full guard but Jackson has managed to sneak the leg through.
And that's the end of the fight! Blanket Jackson showed his dominance in that final round. I think Jackson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
