Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mark Ramos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Owusu Andoh! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Taro Takaoka and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Andoh on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Andoh lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Ramos tests Andoh's chin there with a solid looking shot. Ramos scores with a body shot.
A combination from Ramos does no damage. Ramos throws a hook to the side of Andoh's head but Andoh sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Mark Ramos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ramos misses with an uppercut. Andoh saw that one coming. Ramos throws out a loose jab but Andoh uses good head movement to avoid it. Ramos ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Andoh displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ramos throws out the jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ramos throws a big shot that misses. Ramos connects with a body shot. Ramos takes one on the button. Andoh takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Andoh scores with a hook to the body. Ramos takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Andoh misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ramos.
Andoh throws a hook but Ramos blocks it. Andoh takes the fight into the clinch. Ramos tries to pull guard but Andoh forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Andoh is trying to maintain a safe position but Ramos gets an underhook and turns Andoh into the cage. Andoh prevents a takedown attempt there.
Ramos jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Andoh walks away with a smile on his face. Ramos gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Ramos. That's going to take a lot out of him. Andoh throws a chopping leg kick but Ramos manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Ramos looks to score with a jab to the body but Andoh is just out of range. Andoh scores with a slapping inside leg kick. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Andoh throws a front kick aimed at Ramos's knee but Ramos avoids it well. Ramos with a body punch. A glancing blow. Ramos tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Andoh was well out of range. Poor timing from Ramos. Ramos misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Andoh counters with a slapping leg kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ramos swats away the attempt to clinch by Andoh. Andoh moves away from the strike by Ramos. Ramos circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ramos shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Andoh as he avoids it easily. Ramos changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Andoh looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Andoh sneaks back into half guard. Ramos lands strikes from half guard. Ramos seems to be looking for submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Andoh tries to kick Ramos off but Ramos keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Ramos throwing shots but Andoh is blocking nicely. Andoh is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Andoh trying to control from the bottom.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Andoh trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Andoh is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Andoh wants to control but Ramos is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ramos working away from the top, dropping strikes. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ramos throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Andoh really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

A decent looking cross lands there for Ramos. Ramos on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Ramos lands a nice shot that snaps Andoh's head back.

Andoh clobbers Ramos with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. A jab from Ramos misses.

Andoh misses with a wild body shot. Andoh slips under a jab from Ramos. Ramos changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Andoh tries to avoid it but Ramos manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Andoh to the ground. Andoh escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Andoh keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ramos. Andoh moves into the clinch. Ramos is trying to push Andoh away but Andoh has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Ramos avoiding damage as Andoh throws knees to the body.
Andoh is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. A head punch on the inside from Andoh fails to land. Andoh lands a hook that snaps the head of Ramos backwards. The referee is keeping an eye on Andoh - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Andoh is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Ramos gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Andoh regains guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ramos trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Andoh trying to keep a closed guard but Ramos is proving a slippery customer.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Owusu Andoh hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Ramos connects with a nice looking jab.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Andoh is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Andoh preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ramos throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Andoh tries to land a sweep but no joy. Ramos in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Ramos is looking to work some ground and pound but Andoh has wrist control. Ramos wants to control from the top but Andoh keeps moving. Ramos postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Ramos has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Ramos cracks Andoh with a solid left hand. Andoh is trying to control the position but Ramos postures up. Ramos throws a big right hand that misses. Andoh is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Andoh is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ramos is looking for a sweep. Andoh is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Andoh stands up from half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ramos throws a looping overhand right but Andoh ducks down to avoid it. Andoh moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Andoh tries to clinch but Ramos is having none of it. Andoh misses with a jab to the body
and Ramos counters with a stiff right hand.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Owusu Andoh. I think Andoh has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
