Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Pinto Pinto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Alard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Antonio Pinto Pinto!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aaron Alard!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Wagner Zegers and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pinto closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Alard did well to prevent Pinto getting side control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Pinto is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Pinto is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Alard is just riding it out for now. Pinto eventually gives up the hold.
Alard wants to control but Pinto is keeping busy.
Alard is looking to improve his position.
Alard trying to control but Pinto postures up.

Pinto wants to work for an arm triangle but Alard is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Alard has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pinto is working away from the top position though.
Alard wants to control the action here but instead Pinto manages to pass to full mount!
Pinto throwing strikes here but Alard is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alard is wriggling around trying to escape.

Pinto with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Pinto goes for an armbar but Alard turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Alard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pinto is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Pinto is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Alard doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Pinto.

Alard makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Alard.

Alard controls Pinto momentarily but Pinto frees himself.

Alard looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Alard working for submissions but it's allowed Pinto to get to half guard.
Alard wants to control but Pinto is keeping busy.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Alard might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Pinto kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Antonio Pinto Pinto will probably get the nod.
That's time! Pinto's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Alard misses with a few strikes there.

Alard gets caught flat footed, as Pinto shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Alard escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pinto gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Alard doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Alard looking for subs off his back but Pinto has passed one foot through into half guard.
Alard tries to roll over but Pinto keeps him under control.

Alard trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Pinto manages to pass to mount!
Alard wants to hold on but Pinto pushes him away.
Alard sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Alard looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Pinto frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Alard is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Pinto is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Alard is surviving well by controlling Pinto's body position as best he can.
Alard is looking to improve his position but Pinto isn't that keen on the idea.

Alard regains half guard.
Alard tries to get to full guard but Pinto has control of the leg.

Alard looking for submissions off his back.
Alard wants to improve his position but Pinto is controlling well.
Aaron Alard has got the better of the ground game so far.

Pinto is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Alard has managed to free his arm - good work.
Alard has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pinto is working away from the top position though.
Alard is pressing down on Pinto's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Pinto got a little sloppy there for a moment and Alard has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pinto has managed to get both his arms back between Alard's legs - danger averted.

Pinto is sitting in close to Alard's body. Alard has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Pinto is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Pinto is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Alard.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Aaron Alard!
