Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ron Mexico (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Putzillini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mexico comes to the cage accompanied by I want war. Putzillini has chosen Battle March Medley as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ron Mexico!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rocky Putzillini!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Kavanagh and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mexico throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A punch combination from Mexico misses.
Mexico throws a shot from downtown. Putzillini moves away and avoids it.
Mexico takes a swing at Putzillini's ribcage but misses.
Mexico avoids the body shot from Putzillini.
Mexico swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Putzillini.
Mexico jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Mexico misses with a body shot.
Mexico misses with the combination.
Putzillini takes a swing at Mexico's ribcage but misses.
Putzillini misses with a looping right.
Mexico throws a body punch but Putzillini moves out of range.
Mexico goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Mexico misses with a right hand
and Putzillini counters with a nice uppercut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Putzillini keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mexico cracks Putzillini with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Putzillini slips a jab from Mexico.
A looping hook to the body misses from Mexico. Putzillini does a little dance to reset his feet.
Putzillini tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Mexico manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Mexico closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Mexico throwing shots but Putzillini is blocking nicely.
Mexico sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Putzillini defending well though.
Putzillini tries to get to full guard but Mexico has control of the leg.

Mexico lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mexico is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Mexico wants to control but Putzillini is keeping him busy.
Putzillini tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Mexico has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Putzillini is squirming around, avoiding Mexico's attempts to control the action.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Putzillini is bucking up trying to escape but Mexico cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Mexico with the ground and pound from mount.
Mexico misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mexico with a couple of short strikes.
Putzillini is still in real trouble! Can Mexico finish him?
Mexico pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Mexico working away from the top, dropping strikes.

Mexico loads up with a big shot that hurts Putzillini! He's pulled Mexico in close but Mexico has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Putzillini survive? More strikes from Mexico and Putzillini is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Ron Mexico!
