I think Lyger might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Holy Diver. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Lyger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sidney Humpstone!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Eddie Farnsworth and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lyger circles away from the clinch attempt

and Lyger counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Humpstone being controlled here, momentarily.
Humpstone is looking to stand up but Lyger isn't so interested in that idea.
Lyger trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Lyger postures up and lands a big shot to Humpstone's brow.
Lyger trying to control but Humpstone is working from the bottom.
Humpstone wants to get back to his feet but Lyger is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lyger trying to control the position from guard on top but Humpstone is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lyger pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Humpstone is keeping the position for now.
Lyger postures up in Humpstone's guard and throws a big left but Humpstone blocks it.
Lyger sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Humpstone is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Lyger wants to control from the top but Humpstone keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. James Lyger wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Humpstone tries to clinch there but Lyger circles away.

and Lyger counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Humpstone!

It looks like Sidney Humpstone has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

That has opened up Sidney Humpstone's cut even more.
Humpstone tries to hold on but Lyger postures up.

The cut above Sidney Humpstone's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Humpstone takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.


Sidney Humpstone's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Sidney Humpstone's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). James Lyger!
