Shimura has chosen Two Steps From Hell - Archangel as his entrance music. Wesley Smallwoods has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daizo Shimura!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Eliza Hachem and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shimura misses with a two punch combination.
Shimura's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Shimura duly obliges.
It looks like Wesley Smallwoods has been cut.
Smallwoods circles away from the clinch attempt
and Smallwoods counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Smallwoods.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smallwoods seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Shimura looking to hit a scissor sweep but Smallwoods is one step ahead there.
Shimura can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Smallwoods controls the pace.
Smallwoods trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Wesley Smallwoods just wasn't active enough.
Smallwoods shoots for a double leg takedown but Shimura sprawls well. He's pushed Smallwoods's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Shimura wants to clinch.

and Smallwoods counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Shimura!

Shimura swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Shimura tries to clinch up but Smallwoods circles away and keeps his distance.

Smallwoods tries a head kick but it misses.
A swing and a miss from Smallwoods.
Shimura lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Smallwoods pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Smallwoods is breathing heavily.
Shimura tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Smallwoods paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Shimura doesn't manage to clinch there - Smallwoods circles away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shimura drops Smallwoods with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Smallwoods looks back up at him and smiles so Shimura waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Smallwoods is rocked!
Shimura tries to clinch but Smallwoods is having none of it.
Oh Smallwoods is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Daizo Shimura is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
