The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sherk instigates a clinch. Sherk drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Anderson gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Sherk tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Anderson smiles and moves away.
Anderson is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Sherk moves into the clinch. Anderson landing knees to the head.

Anderson circles away from the clinch attempt and Anderson counters by moving into the clinch. Sherk is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Anderson pulls him back up using the underhooks. Ciaran Anderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Anderson rushes Sherk and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Sherk gets a trip takedown into half guard. Anderson is looking to improve his position.

The fighters are battling for position here. Sherk manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Sherk is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Sherk is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
