Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Christian Alkofer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iqbal Al Mamood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Al Mamood has chosen Mamute Pequenino as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Christian Alkofer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Iqbal Al Mamood!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Donatello Bradman and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Mamood slaps away a takedown attempt from Alkofer, before circling back to the center of the mat.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Iqbal Al Mamood hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Al Mamood accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Alkofer tries to score a power double leg takedown but Al Mamood sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Alkofer somewhat.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Al Mamood jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Alkofer dives in and grabs Al Mamood's left leg, looking for a takedown. Al Mamood pushes down on Alkofer's head and hops out.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Iqbal Al Mamood showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Al Mamood throws a right and a left that both miss.
Al Mamood throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Alkofer on the side of the head.

Al Mamood feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well Al Mamood has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
