Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vinnie Sproston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Damajur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sproston rushes Damajur and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Sproston is trying to break the clinch but Damajur is controlling him.

Damajur manages to break the clinch.
Damajur avoids the head kick by Sproston.

so Damajur counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Sproston is trying to control the position but Damajur postures up.
Damajur's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Damajur gets to his feet - Sproston follows without any prompting.

Damajur changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sproston looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sproston tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Damajur wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jake Damajur hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Sproston lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Sproston tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Damajur shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sproston as he jumps to the side.

Sproston closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Damajur is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Sproston is controlling him well.

Sproston decides to stand back up. Sproston steps back and let's Damajur get back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Some bone on bone action there as Damajur checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
