Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Zag Luis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Santiago Koubra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Santiago Koubra has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Koubra scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Koubra shoots in looking for a takedown. Luis tries to sprawl out of it but Koubra keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Luis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Luis decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Koubra's guard.

Luis is pushing down on Koubra's leg trying to pass to half guard. Koubra is fighting to maintain full guard but Luis has managed to sneak the leg through.

Luis is stalling here. Koubra is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Luis seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Koubra has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Koubra gets tackled into the cage by Luis. Luis maintains the clinch.
Koubra is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Luis pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Koubra has had enough of the clinch but Luis keeps him there for the moment.

Luis is trying to trip Koubra. He has hold of a leg but Koubra is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Luis persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Zag Luis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Koubra working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Luis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Luis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Luis avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Luis tries to free his leg and advance position but Koubra is retaining full guard.
Luis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Koubra on the ground.

Koubra controls Luis momentarily but Luis frees himself.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Luis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Luis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Koubra swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Luis slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Koubra has momentary wrist control but Luis slips an elbow through the middle.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Koubra is trying to stand up here but Luis is controlling him well.
Koubra is breathing heavily.
Luis wants to control but Koubra is keeping him busy.
Luis lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Luis is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Koubra gets back to full guard.

Luis wants to stand up but Koubra is controlling him.
Koubra is looking to advance position but Luis has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Koubra looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Luis has picked Koubra up and slammed him! Koubra can't keep hold of the triangle and Luis manages to pass to side control!

Luis connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Koubra some visible discomfort.
A big shot lands for Luis! That's hurt Koubra! Will he recover? Luis fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
