The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aleksejev dives in and scores a takedown into Daley's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Aleksejev makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Aleksejev is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Let's hope that Aleksejev has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Aleksejev content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Daley has locked up a guillotine! Daley's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Aleksejev is holding on here and Daley must be using up a lot of energy. Aleksejev has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Daley gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
