Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Deacon Griggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ezekiel Cloud (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Griggs kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Church by T-Pain. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Deacon Griggs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ezekiel Cloud! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Griggs misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Cloud.
Griggs shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cloud but Cloud pushes him off and we're back to square one. Cloud takes a swing at Griggs's ribcage but misses. Griggs fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cloud avoids it really well and circles away. Griggs changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cloud tries to avoid it but Griggs manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cloud to the ground. Cloud escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Deacon Griggs. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cloud displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Griggs. Cloud uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Griggs fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Cloud throws a good cross that connects.
Griggs throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cloud was covering up waiting for the punch and Griggs finishes the takedown easily into guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Griggs throws an elbow that misses. Cloud uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Griggs's guard. Nice move by Cloud!
That's one minute gone in the round. Griggs is looking for a triangle but Cloud pushes his legs off easily.
Cloud must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Griggs wants to sweep here but Cloud controlling him for the moment. Griggs wants to control but Cloud passes easily into half guard.
Griggs gets back to full guard.
Griggs controls Cloud momentarily but Cloud frees himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Griggs wants to sweep here but Cloud controlling him for the moment. Griggs is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Griggs has his foot on Cloud's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cloud works his way back into a safe position though. Cloud stays in close to Griggs's body and controls the position. Griggs has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Cloud doesn't defend quickly enough and Griggs has managed to lock this one up! Can Cloud escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Griggs on a fantastic submission victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Deacon Griggs! Post fight, Deacon Griggs stared into the camera and said 'Really glad I pulled off the win tonight. If I didn't, well then I may have had to rethink my career choice. That being said, that wasn't the case tonight and I will continue to improve and win fights.'.
