Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Riptor Otomono (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Woodhouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Riptor Otomono!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robert Woodhouse!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Eliza Hachem and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woodhouse closes the distance but Otomono moves to the side
and Otomono counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Woodhouse thinking.

Otomono has taken the fight to the clinch.
Woodhouse wants a takedown.

Otomono gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Otomono stands and steps away. Woodhouse gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Otomono gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Otomono has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Woodhouse regains guard immediately.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Otomono content to stall in guard here.
Woodhouse trying to keep a closed guard but Otomono is proving a slippery customer.
Otomono tries to free his leg and advance position but Woodhouse is retaining full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Woodhouse looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Woodhouse wants to stand up but Otomono is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Otomono tries to free his leg and advance position but Woodhouse is retaining full guard.
Woodhouse wants to stand and escape but Otomono is having none of it.
Woodhouse doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Woodhouse is trying to control the position but Otomono postures up.
Otomono stays in close to Woodhouse's body and controls the position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Woodhouse stuffs the takedown attempt from Otomono. Otomono gets slowly back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Otomono looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Woodhouse wants to sweep but no luck.

Otomono decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Woodhouse throws a series of punches but Otomono moves out of range.
Otomono closes the distance and clinches up with Woodhouse, looking for a takedown. Otomono pushes Woodhouse against the cage but Woodhouse circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Otomono is breathing heavily.
Otomono shoots in but Woodhouse avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Riptor Otomono. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Woodhouse tries to close the distance and clinch up but Otomono swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Woodhouse counters with a crisp one two that drops Otomono! Woodhouse thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Otomono to his feet! Otomono is in big trouble!


Otomono is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Woodhouse.
Oh Otomono is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Woodhouse throws a right and a left that Otomono avoids nicely.
Woodhouse throws a head kick that misses.
Otomono seems to have got his legs back now.
Otomono tries to clinch up but Woodhouse circles away and keeps his distance.
Woodhouse fails with the takedown.
Otomono circles away from the clinch attempt.
Woodhouse tries to close the distance and clinch but Otomono swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Otomono checks a leg kick nicely.
Woodhouse closes the distance and clinches up with Otomono, looking for a takedown. Woodhouse pushes Otomono against the cage but Otomono circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Otomono shoots in looking for a takedown but Woodhouse manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Otomono's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Woodhouse is trying hard to land a takedown here. Otomono sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Otomono keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Otomono shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Woodhouse pinned against the cage. Woodhouse gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Woodhouse throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Otomono sees it coming and avoids it easily.
No luck for Woodhouse with that takedown attempt.
Woodhouse fails with a takedown attempt.
Woodhouse throws a leg kick that is checked

and Otomono counters with a single leg into guard. Woodhouse didn't expect that.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Woodhouse is trying to control the position but Otomono postures up.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Otomono is looking to work some ground and pound but Woodhouse has wrist control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Riptor Otomono will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Otomono keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Otomono dives in and grabs Woodhouse's left leg, looking for a takedown. Woodhouse pushes down on Otomono's head and hops out.
Otomono throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Woodhouse throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Otomono counters with a left to the body.
Otomono misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Otomono closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Woodhouse's guard.
Otomono looking to pass the guard.
Woodhouse controls Otomono momentarily but Otomono frees himself.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Woodhouse pushes a forearm under Otomono's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Otomono is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Robert Woodhouse!
