Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Reil Bogs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mateus Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Reil Bogs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mateus Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Donatello Bradman and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bogs tries to clinch but Gracie is having none of it.
Bogs attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Reil Bogs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Gracie.
Gracie slips a jab and a cross from Bogs.
Gracie throws a head kick that misses
and Bogs counters with a head kick. That will keep Gracie thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Gracie feints and then cracks Bogs's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bogs down.
Gracie takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Gracie throws a nice outside leg kick.
Bogs turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bogs scores with a head kick.

Bogs gets caught napping as Gracie dives in and scores a takedown. Bogs manages to retain guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Gracie postures up in Bogs's guard and throws a big left but Bogs blocks it.
Bogs keeping full guard, as Gracie tries to pass.
Gracie passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Gracie is working Bogs over with some ground and pound from side control.
Gracie misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
You can see the frustration on Bogs's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Gracie tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Bogs is working to avoid the ground and pound but Gracie connects with a decent elbow.
Gracie lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Bogs down.
Bogs is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Bogs taking a bit of punishment here - Gracie scoring with strikes.

Gracie throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Bogs works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gracie wants to pass to mount but Bogs is defending the position.
Gracie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Gracie is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Bogs gets back to full guard.
Bogs is trying to control the position but Gracie postures up.
Gracie is pushing down on Bogs's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bogs is fighting to maintain full guard but Gracie has managed to sneak the leg through.

Gracie is working for a kimura but Bogs is defending it quite comfortably.
Gracie wants to free his trapped foot but Bogs is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Gracie is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Bogs to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Bogs is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Bogs is trying to control the position but Gracie postures up.
Gracie passes Bogs's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Bogs is trying to stand back up but Gracie is controlling him

Gracie tries to pass to full mount but Bogs defends it.
Gracie has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Gracie cracks Bogs with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Bogs tries to hold on but Gracie pushes him away.

Gracie looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gracie is in the full mount, landing strikes.


It looks like Reil Bogs has been cut.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Gracie lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.


Reil Bogs's cut is getting worse.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bogs really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
You get the feeling that Bogs really doesn't like being in this position too much.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mateus Gracie dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Reil Bogs's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!


Gracie scoring well with a low kick there.
Gracie circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bogs lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gracie circles away quickly and effectively.
Gracie just misses with a punch to the body.
Bogs lands with a thumping leg kick.
Gracie looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Bogs takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Gracie throws a nice looking combination but Bogs bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Bogs has managed to clinch.
Gracie tries for a takedown but Bogs manages to get underhooks.
Gracie tries to score a body lock takedown but Bogs shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Gracie changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bogs fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Reil Bogs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mateus Gracie.
Bogs moves in looking to clinch but Gracie pushes him off.
Reil Bogs is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Thud! ouch! good body kick from Bogs - that will leave a mark!
Gracie throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Bogs connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Bogs looks for the body kick but Gracie saw that one coming.
Gracie throws a right and a left that Bogs avoids nicely.
Bogs tries to clinch up but Gracie circles away and keeps his distance.
A slapping leg kick lands for Gracie.
No joy there for Bogs, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gracie misses with a leg kick
and Bogs counters with a one-two to the body.
Bogs tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Gracie manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Bogs misses with a kick to the body.
Bogs shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Gracie eats them both and turns towards Bogs to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Gracie avoids a kick to the body.

Gracie looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Bogs is looking to improve his position.
Bogs wants to control but Gracie is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Mateus Gracie has got the better of the ground game so far.
Gracie looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bogs with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Gracie in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Gracie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Gracie passes Bogs's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Bogs avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gracie.
Bogs manages to get to full guard.
Gracie postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Bogs preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Gracie wants to pass the guard but Bogs is keeping the position.
Bogs can't keep his opponent in guard - Gracie advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gracie drops an elbow to the side of Bogs's head.

Gracie is looking for a kimura but Bogs is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gracie to get the leverage.

Gracie looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Gracie throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bogs is in trouble now - Gracie has advanced to mount!
Gracie lands a big shot there that rocks Bogs but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Mateus Gracie will probably get the nod - 10:9.

That's time! Back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Gracie closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Bogs quickly recovers to half guard.
Bogs moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Gracie stands and throws Bogs's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Bogs tries to improve position but can't.
Gracie misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Bogs tries to escape but Gracie is in control.
Gracie in side control lands a decent elbow.


Jeez, Reil Bogs's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Reil Bogs's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Mateus Gracie!
Mateus Gracie took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'Gracie gets on the Mic and proclaims "Sam Axe...I know you are here watching!!! This is my first step in getting back what is mine, not yours!!! I will get my rematch soon and reclaim my title!!"'.
