Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh Bardon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Sonnen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Bardon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Henry Sonnen! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bardon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sonnen. Bardon defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Sonnen. A solid leg kick lands there for Bardon.
Bardon lands a leg kick that knocks Sonnen off balance momentarily. Sonnen throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bardon was covering up waiting for the punch and Sonnen finishes the takedown easily into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Bardon not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bardon lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sonnen! This has been an exciting period of action! Sonnen wants to try and get back to his feet. Sonnen wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Bardon.
Bardon cracks Sonnen with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Sonnen is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Bardon throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Sonnen because Bardon loaded up on that one. Bardon working the ground and pound effectively.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sonnen is looking to improve his position but Bardon isn't that keen on the idea. Bardon with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Bardon lands a big shot there that rocks Sonnen but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Sonnen tries to get back to half guard but can't. Bardon goes for an armbar but Sonnen turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Sonnen.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bardon is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Sonnen drops back, looking for a kneebar! Bardon looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Bardon looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Bardon! Sonnen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bardon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Bardon stands up and beckons Sonnen to his feet. Sonnen on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. A good leg kick by Bardon. Sonnen shoots in for a takedown but Bardon shows good takedown defense. Josh Bardon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Henry Sonnen. Bardon fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sonnen, pushing him back against the cage. Bardon lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sonnen is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Bardon gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Bardon has Sonnen pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Sonnen manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Bardon is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Bardon utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. The fight stays on the outside here - Bardon looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Bardon connects with a body shot that sends Sonnen's belly button to the back. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! The fight moves into the clinch position. Sonnen changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bardon fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Bardon tries to close the distance and clinch but Sonnen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Sonnen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bardon avoids it really well and circles away. Sonnen keeps the fight on the outside. Bardon fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bardon is looking to slow Sonnen down with leg kicks. Bardon fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Bardon tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Sonnen manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Josh Bardon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Sonnen is breathing heavily. Bardon is looking to clinch but Sonnen is avoiding it.
Henry Sonnen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sonnen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Bardon with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bardon throws a nice outside leg kick. Sonnen's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Bardon fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sonnen has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Bardon lands with a slapping head kick. Bardon has closed the distance and engaged Sonnen in a clinch.

Bardon unloads a knee to the mid-section. Sonnen lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bardon wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Sonnen fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Sonnen tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. No luck for Sonnen with that takedown attempt. Sonnen takes one to the side of the head.
Bardon lets loose with a powerful body kick. Sonnen will feel that in the morning. No luck for Sonnen with that takedown attempt. Bardon scores with a jab to the jaw. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Sonnen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bardon avoids it really well and circles away. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Bardon.

Sonnen prevents Bardon from getting back to his feet. Sonnen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sonnen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Sonnen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Sonnen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bardon is keeping the position for now. Bardon has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Sonnen off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Bardon throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Sonnen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
