Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charlie Meyers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andy Ridge!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Lou da Vinci and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ridge lands with a slapping head kick.
Meyers keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ridge.
Ridge slaps away a takedown attempt from Meyers, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Ridge drives through and clinches with Meyers against the cage.
Meyers on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Ridge has Meyers pushed against the cage.

Meyers gets control of Ridge's arms and successfully pulls guard. Meyers will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Ridge slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Ridge controlling the position from side mount.
Meyers is looking for a sweep.
Meyers manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Ridge is keen to just control but Meyers is a slippery customer.
Ridge looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Ridge has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Ridge can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Meyers is looking to escape.

Ridge really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Meyers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Meyers is working hard here to advance position.
Meyers regains half guard.
Ridge slows the pace down in half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ridge tries to stand but can't do so whilst Meyers controls his leg.
Ridge passes the guard and advances to mount!
Ridge wants to control the pace but Meyers is squirming around nicely.

Ridge manages to capitalize on a mistake by Meyers to take his back!
Meyers is really stuck here.
Ridge is trying to stick to Meyers's back but Meyers is turning into Ridge. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Ridge's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Meyers.

Meyers thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Meyers drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Meyers jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Ridge wants to sweep but no luck.

Meyers wants to pass the guard but Ridge is keeping the position.

Meyers thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Meyers stands and throws Ridge's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Meyers thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Ridge is looking for a sweep.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ridge wants to control but Meyers postures up.

Meyers is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ridge knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Meyers tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Meyers has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Andy Ridge will probably get the nod.

Meyers has his takedown stuffed
and Ridge counters with a leg kick.

Meyers fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Ridge to the ground. Meyers is now in Ridge's guard.

Meyers drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ridge manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Meyers has Ridge in his guard.
Ridge trying to control but Meyers is working from the bottom.
Ridge would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Ridge sitting in guard, not really doing much.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Meyers escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ridge gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ridge trying to control the position from guard on top but Meyers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Andy Ridge.
Meyers has a takedown stuffed.
Meyers fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ridge avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Charlie Meyers. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ridge tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Meyers manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Meyers shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Ridge cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Meyers shoots in for a double leg but Ridge sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Andy Ridge is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ridge fails in his attempt to clinch.
Ridge looks to land a combination but Meyers avoids it well.
Ridge tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Ridge slaps away a takedown attempt from Meyers, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Ridge throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Meyers.
Charlie Meyers is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Ridge instigates a clinch.
Ridge lands a damaging elbow.


It looks like Charlie Meyers has been cut.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Ridge misses with an elbow strike.
Meyers is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Ridge to keep the fight standing.
Ridge has Meyers pushed against the cage.
Ridge gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Ridge effectively controlling the action here.
Meyers avoids the elbow strike from Ridge, against the cage.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Ridge just misses with a elbow thrown towards Meyers's brow.
Ridge will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Meyers up against the cage.
Ridge connects with a nasty looking knee right to Meyers's face.


Charlie Meyers's cut is getting worse.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ridge using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Meyers has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Meyers managing to block the knees to the body from Ridge.
Ridge misses with a knee to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andy Ridge showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Ridge stuffs the takedown attempt from Meyers. Meyers gets slowly back to his feet.
Ridge displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Meyers.

and Ridge makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Meyers shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ridge defends it nicely.
Meyers swats away the attempt to clinch by Ridge.
Ridge lands a nice leg kick that just misses Meyers's sensitive parts.

Meyers tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ridge sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Meyers somewhat.
Ridge displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Meyers.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Ridge closes the distance and clinches.
A bit of stalling here from Ridge.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Ridge misses with an elbow over the top.

And that's the end of the fight!
Andy Ridge comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Ridge winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
