Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Kingston! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Marram Marshes! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Ackerman and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kingston lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Kingston lands with a hook. Marshes tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Kingston could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Marshes shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kingston pinned against the cage. Kingston gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Marshes misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kingston misses with a body shot.
Kingston lands with a right hand. Kingston shoots in for a double leg but Marshes sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Marshes digs a good hook to Kingston's body.
Marshes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kingston swivels and escapes. Marshes fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kingston closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Kingston misses with a punch on the inside.
Kingston manages to break the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marshes blocks a leg kick. Marshes blocks a jab. Marshes will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Kingston throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Kingston gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Marshes. Kingston misses with a series of wild punches.

Marshes dives in and grabs Kingston's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kingston pushes down on Marshes's head and hops out. Jack Kingston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marram Marshes. Kingston doesn't manage to clinch there - Marshes circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Kingston scores with a shot to the side of Marshes's head. Marshes has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kingston uses from the top position. Kingston trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Kingston wanted to stand there but Marshes had control of the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kingston wants to stand and escape but instead Marshes has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Marshes prevents Kingston from getting back to his feet. Marshes gets to his feet - Kingston follows without any prompting. Kingston slaps away a takedown attempt from Marshes, before circling back to the center of the mat. Kingston lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kingston drives through with a takedown into Marshes's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Marshes looks gassed! Kingston stops Marshes from standing up. Kingston tries to stand but Marshes is controlling from the bottom. Kingston trying to control the position from guard on top but Marshes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kingston stopping the sweep attempt from Marshes. Kingston throws an elbow that misses. Marshes uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kingston's guard. Nice move by Marshes! Marshes throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kingston works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marshes wants to control from the top but Kingston keeps moving. Kingston looking to control.
Kingston is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Marshes is controlling him. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Marshes trying to control but Kingston is working from the bottom. Kingston on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kingston tries to get out of the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Marshes throws a sloppy head kick and Kingston counters with a series of strikes. Marshes will be more careful next time no doubt. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nice takedown defense from Marshes. No joy for Kingston on that attempt. Sloppy strikes from Kingston. Those never looked like landing. Marshes is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kingston sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kingston shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Jack Kingston is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Kingston clinches with his opponent.

A head kick misses from Marshes. Kingston is looking to clinch but Marshes is avoiding it.
Jack Kingston is winning the standup battle so far. Marshes avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A clash of legs there as Kingston blocks the low kick. No joy there for Marshes, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kingston loads up on a big right hand but Marshes slips the punch. Marshes moves into the clinch. A frustrated look appears on Kingston's face as he tries to break the clinch. Kingston throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Marshes moves in looking to clinch but Kingston pushes him off. Marshes closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kingston circles away. Kingston will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Kingston throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Marshes sees it coming and avoids it easily. Kingston closes the distance and clinches. Marshes is trying to push Kingston away but Kingston has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Marshes has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kingston down to the mat. Kingston avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Kingston is looking to clinch but Marshes is avoiding it.

The fight moves into the clinch position. Marshes lands a right hand that snaps the head of Kingston backwards. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Marshes jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kingston walks away with a smile on his face. Marshes gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Marshes throws a left and a right that both miss
and Kingston counters with a leg kick. Kingston lands with a nice combination. Marshes backs away looking to recover.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kingston throws a series of punches but Marshes moves out of range. A left and a right from Kingston both land. Nice combination. Kingston misses with a looping left. Kingston scoring well with a low kick there.
Kingston goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Marshes tries to clinch up. Kingston throws out a loose jab but Marshes uses good head movement to avoid it. Kingston scores with a nice strike. Kingston tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Marshes paws at him with a jab and circles away. Kingston throws a right and a left that both miss.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marshes moves out of range of the leg kick from Kingston. A jab from Kingston finds it's way through Marshes's defenses. Kingston throws a series of punches but Marshes moves out of range. Marshes is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Kingston tries to clinch but Marshes moves away and Marshes counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Kingston scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Kingston fails with the takedown. Marshes fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kingston avoids it really well and circles away. Kingston has a takedown stuffed. Kingston moves out of range of the leg kick from Marshes. Kingston throws the left hand but Marshes avoids the punch easily. Marshes steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kingston. Marshes fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Kingston checks it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marshes tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kingston sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Marshes somewhat. Marshes takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Horrible takedown by Kingston or perhaps it was just good defense by Marshes which made him look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Kingston. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kingston throws a right and a left that Marshes avoids nicely. Marshes misses with a double jab.
Kingston tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Marshes manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Marshes shoots in for a takedown but Kingston shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Kingston throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Kingston throws a right and a left that Marshes avoids nicely.

and Kingston counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kingston wants to get up but he can't break Marshes's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Jack Kingston is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Kingston gets to his feet. Marshes looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Marram Marshes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kingston lands a jab to the head.
And that's the end of the fight! Jack Kingston showed his dominance in that final round. Well Kingston has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
